ARTICLE II- PURPOSE
The Mission of the ICSDA is to unify qualified instructors in the fields of Combatives, Self Defense, Personal Safety and Defensive Tactics. The ICDSA is dedicated to promoting services and guidance to foster Technical Excellence, Fellowship and Human Character Development.
ARTICLE III- MEMBERSHIP
1. Associate Membership in the organization shall be open to any lawful and ethical individual who has an interest in supporting the goals of the ICSDA
2. Student Membership in the organization shall be open to anyone who is currently a student of an ICSDA recognized instructor or an ICSDA certified instructor
3. Recognized Instructor Membership is available for individuals who are deemed by the ICSDA staff to be legitimate and reputable instructors of a ICSDA recognized program in the fields of Combatives, Self Defense, Defensive Tactics or Combat Martial Arts. Recognized instructor membership is granted specifically in the area of expertise.
4. Certified Instructor Membership is available only to those individuals who have successfully completed one the official ICSDA Instructor Certification Programs.
5. State Director Membership is by appointment only. The appointment can be made by the ICSDA director of operations or the overseeing regional director with the approval of the ISCDA director of operations. State Director positions are held for a 12 months, at which time they can be renewed or removed from the position.
6. Regional Director Membership is by appointment only. The appointment can be made by the ICSDA director of operations or the overseeing Country director with the approval of the ISCDA director of operations Regional Director positions are held for a 24 months, at which time they can be renewed or removed from the position.
7. Country Director Membership is by appointment only. The appointment can be made only by the ICSDA director of operations. Country Director positions are held for a 24 months, at which time they can be renewed or removed from the position.
8. Chaplin membership is by appointment only. The appointment can be made only by the ICSDA director of operations. The Chaplin position is held for a 12 months, at which time they can be renewed or removed from the position.
9. Director of Communications membership is by appointment only. The appointment can be made only by the ICSDA director of operations. The Director of Communications position is held for a 12 months, at which time they can be renewed or removed from the position.
10. Advisory Board Membership is by appointment only. The current acting executive board must vote candidates into the position by a majority vote. Appointments are valid for 12 months at which time they can be renewed or removed from the position.
12. Senior Council Membership is by appointment only. Senior Council membership is limited to those members who have made significant contributions to the training community. Additionally members must have a minimum of 25 years in training experience Appointments are held for life.
13. Executive Board Membership is limited to the Director of operations, the deputy director of operations, the director of the combat martial arts division, and one additional member appointed by the Director of operations. Appointments are valid for 12 months at which time they can be renewed or removed from the position.
14. Director Combat Martial Arts Division Membership is by appointment only. The appointment can be made only by the ICSDA director of operations. The Director of Combat Martial Arts Division position is held for a 12 months, at which time they can be renewed or removed from the position.
15. Deputy Director of Operations Membership is by appointment only. The appointment can be made only by the ICSDA director of operations. The Deputy Director of Operations position is held for a 12 months, at which time they can be renewed or removed from the position.
16. Director of Operations Membership. The Director of Operations position is currently a life time office. The position can be transferred to another member by appointment of the current Director of Operations on a temporary or full time basis. The successor to the current Director of Operations will be determined by the acting director.
17. The ICSDA reserves the right to dismiss any member at any time. Grounds for dismissal include but are not limited to: Disruptive behavior, Un-ethical or un-professional behavior.
18. Membership dues are required in full at the members anniversary date.
ARTICLE IV- FUNDING
1. The organization shall be funded through the following means: membership dues and product sales.
2. All money transactions must be approved by the Director of Operations.
ARTICLE V- TRADE / SERVICE MARK USAGE
1. All members in good standing may use the ICSDA logo for the purpose of advertising ICSDA endorsed events. The logo may also be used freely on members websites.
2. No merchandise will be created or sold with the ICSDA logo without the approval of the ICSDA Director of Operations.
3. Existing ICSDA members who recruit new members to the association are entitled to profit sharing.
ARTICLE VI- LIABILITY & RESPONSIBILITY
1. All ICSDA members are responsible for maintaining their own insurance policy, as they are not provided insurance coverage by the ICSDA.
2. All ICSDA members are responsible for creating and maintaining a safe training environment. This includes but is not limited to Adequate space and lighting, access to medical care and telephones, Use of proper safety equipment, etc.
3. All members shall sign a waiver of liability and an agreement to participate before being permitted to participate in any ICSDA activity. The signed waivers and agreements shall be kept on file with ICSDA HQ
ARTICLE VII- ETHICS
1. All members are expected to maintain a high code of Professional and personal ethics.
2. The ISDA Code of ethics is as follows:
-The ICSDA shall be a non-partisan organization and shall in no way interfere with the running of any school, academy, or club.
-Shall not in an application for a professional position deliberately make a false statement or fail to disclose a material fact related to competency and qualifications.
-Shall not misrepresent his/her professional qualifications.
-Shall not assist any entry into the profession of a person known to be unqualified in respect to character, education, or other relevant attribute.
-Shall not knowingly make a false statements.
-Shall not disclose information about colleagues obtained in the course of professional service unless disclosure serves a compelling professional purpose or is required by law.
-Shall not knowingly make false or malicious statements about a colleague.
-Shall not on the basis of race, color, creed, sex, national origin, marital status, political or religious beliefs, family, social or cultural background, or sexual orientation, unfairly--
a. Exclude any student from participation in any program
b. Deny benefits to any student
c. Grant any advantage to any student
-Shall not use professional relationships with students for private advantage.
