It could be a key, a ball pen, an umbrella, a stick, or anything that you could use to stab into the eye of a killer animal if necessary. If you don’t have any object at hand, you should launch a kick aimed at the underbelly or head which are the most vulnerable areas of a dog. The base of the skull and the center of the spine and the groin are prone targets especially if you are not the ones being attacked but are helping someone under attack. To minimize risk or injury, keep yourself as far from the jaws as possible.

When you are being attacked by a dog, your presence of mind is important to properly react to the situation. You could call for help while defending yourself from an attack. You could also fight back with whatever object you can use. The important thing is to stay as far away from the jaws and to be always ready to protect your face and neck.

Antihistamines to Fight Allergies

Many people who train for self-defense experience having to skip training or workouts because of allergies. It could take days or even weeks before they can get back to normal training. And allergies are something that can affect anyone.

Allergy refers to hypersensitive reaction of the body to certain harmless substances. It could also mean an unusual reaction of the body in relation to the increase in the immunoglobulin level. Allergic reactions normally occur when the immune system reacts to allergens. Allergens can enter the body through the digestive system, respiratory system or skin contact. There are three common types of allergens, namely the inhalant allergens (such as pet dander, house mites, pollen, spores), ingestant allergens (eggs, peanut, milk, certain medications), and contactant allergens (such as metals and cosmetic products).

Generally, there is no cure for allergies. However, their symptoms can be controlled using certain medications including antihistamines. But antihistamines cannot give relief to all kinds of allergies. However, it is surprising to know that some of those training for self-defense are on a 1,000 calorie diet. Is it okay to have a 1,000-calorie diet while training for self-defense?

The daily calorie requirement for each person per day greatly varies depending on age, gender and physical activities. For those 19 to 30 years old and engaged in moderate physical activities, the average calorie requirement is between 2,200 and 2,800 calories. If a person is more active, the calorie requirement is increased to an average of 2,400 for females and 3,000 for males. This data is based on the Estimated Energy Requirements (EER).

People on a 1,000-calorie diet combine having a special diet plan with physical activities to lose weight in a shorter span of time. The 1,000-calorie diet focuses primarily on taking in greater amounts of low carb fruits and vegetables because they are high in water and fiber which makes a person feel fuller. The standard nutritional guideline for this diet is composes of between 20 to 35 percent fat calories, at least five servings of vegetables and fruits and less than 300 mg cholesterol.

Calories are considered to be energy-giving foods. If your diet is limited to 1,000 calories, your body may not feel normal. You may suffer from fatigue and become weak and less energetic. When done right, a low-calorie diet may be effective in helping you lose a significant amount of excess weight quickly. And while on this diet plan, it is important to ensure that your body still gets the right amount of nutrition it needs.

So, the general answer is no. While there are many success stories about people losing weight in a 1,000-calorie plan, it does not work for everyone. Some may experience muscle loss rather than fat loss or may even suffer from malnutrition, fatigue and other complications instead of losing weight. Physical Workouts You Can Do With Your Dog


Dogs are great pets because they are very versatile animals. Different breeds of dogs are designed for various purposes.
